Indigenous people of the Amazon use the vervain plant for its many medicinal properties.

It is used to treat headaches, colds, and fevers.

This tea can be made for people who suffer from dysentery or stomach pains as well.

In clinical research, many of the vervain’s chemicals were documented with biological activities.

Iridoid glycoside is found in several of the plants of the Verbenaceae genus. It is a powerful antioxidant phytochemical which has been documented as an antiviral, antibacterial, neuroprotective, liver protective, cardioactive and anti-tumorous effect.

The plant is also known to be a laxative, abortive, diuretic, and sedative to lessen spasms and relieve the central nervous system.

WARNING: Do not drink this tea if pregnant!
